BACKGROUND

Kneed Technologies is a start-up that uses motion-monitoring technology to reduce the risk of injury and re-injury in the knee. Our product is a dual knee sleeve embedded with wearable sensors and accelerometers that will monitor the user’s recovery. By understanding the state and activity level of the knee, further injury can be prevented by warning the user of overexertion and keeping the user active.

WHAT DOES KNEED TECHNOLOGIES DO?

Kneed Technologies has created the Smart Sleeve from a light, comfortable neoprene knee sleeve integrated with discrete electronics to comfortably measure the daily progress of the user through the recovery process.  Using strain gauges, the Smart Sleeve will monitor the range of motion of the knee, and store this information via laptop or mobile phone, keeping track of the progress of the user’s recovery of motion.

WHY KNEED TECHNOLOGIES?

The Kneed Technologies knee sleeve design is on the brink of wearable sensors. While typical braces used for recovery are still in use, there is a strong movement of the market towards wearable health technology in use for recovery, fitness tracking, and general health monitoring. Although there are some competitors in this field, the Smart Sleeve is the frontrunner in ACL recovery monitoring with more comprehensive data analysis than the competition while remaining comfortable, discrete, and compatible with passive knee braces.
